10-Second Webcam Check (Do This Every Time)

• 1. Open our webcam tester in a new tab — no download needed.
• 2. Click "Allow Access" when your browser asks for camera permission.
• 3. Look at the preview: Is the image clear? Is your face centered and well-lit?
• 4. Check your background: No messy room, no people walking behind you.
• 5. Glance at resolution & FPS: If it shows 720p or lower, your camera settings may need adjustment.
• Done. Close the tab and join your meeting with confidence.

Full Diagnostic Test (When You Have More Time)

• Resolution Check: The tester shows your actual capture resolution. 1920×1080 (1080p) is ideal. 1280×720 (720p) is acceptable.
• FPS (Frames Per Second): 30 FPS is standard. If you see 15 FPS or lower, your lighting is too dim — add a lamp or sit facing a window.
• Lighting Quality: Face a window (natural light is best). Add a desk lamp at face level. Avoid having a bright window behind you.
• Field of View: Your face should fill 50-70% of the frame.
• Microphone Test: Speak at normal volume. Watch the audio meter. Check for background noise.
• Snapshot Test: Take a snapshot. Does it look professional? If not, adjust lighting.
